Metta Therapy Services

The focus and clear aim of all Metta Therapy Services is to help you, the client, learn how to access, develop and utilise your own unique inner resources to live a more meaningful, authentic and enjoyable life.

Through an experiential process, characterised by the values and practice of compassion, curiosity and collaboration, Metta Therapy services support you to learn how to navigate and to more fully enjoy your life’s journey.

Part of this learning process may be ‘Unlearning’ previously conditioned thoughts, feelings and behaviours which may be holding you back from fully living the life you deserve.

Through the process of ‘Unlearning’, you can learn how to identify, let go and replace unhelpful conditioned thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Do you sometimes feel like you really want to move forward and enjoy your life more, but it feels like something is holding you back from living the life you want?
If so, have a look at the following services at Metta Therapy and notice if you feel curious about any service(s) which may be useful in helping you move beyond whatever may be holding you back from living fully.

Integrative Therapy

There is more than one path to the top of the mountain. Everyone’s path in life is unique and individual to them.

Along the way, you may have had some difficult, challenging and painful and/or traumatic experiences. When such experiences feel too difficult to accept, process and integrate at the time they occur, unpleasant, unhelpful beliefs and behaviours can develop into mental and emotional constructs which then become ‘Default Defence Mechanism(s)’.

Although Defence Mechanisms are intended to keep us feeling safe, they can unintentionally show up in life as: Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, Fears and Phobias, Mental and Emotional Blocks, Low Self Esteem, Lack of Confidence, Addictions, Poor Sleeping and Eating Habits, a Lack of Meaning and Purpose in Life – and a whole host of other issues people may seek out ‘Therapy’ for.

There are many different types of recognised and accredited ‘Therapeutic’ approaches available today to help with such issues. It can be difficult to know what approach will work best for you, especially if you do not have a therapeutic background.

If you want to find out more about Integrative Therapy and what issues, how many sessions and why Integrative Therapy may be an appropriate service for you, feel free to read on by clicking button below.

Clinical Hypnosis

Clinical Hypnosis is not a ‘magic’ cure; it's a tool that can be applied to a lot of challenges and goals.

Sometimes it can help you get what you want all by itself. Other times, it works alongside other forms of help or therapy. It can help you achieve your goals faster and easier in most cases.

The hypnotic state of ‘trance’ is a naturally occurring state, such as the feeling of being absorbed in a good film, book or piece of music. With some guidance and practice, you can access the state of hypnosis to make long lasting desired change(s) at the subconscious level of mind.

Clinical Hypnosis at Metta Therapy provides the necessary therapeutic conditions for you, the client, to enter the safe and natural state of hypnotic trance, helping you access your own subconscious mind.

With access to your subconscious mind, beneficial changes you wish to make in your life can be more easily introduced and accepted, leading to lasting beneficial change(s).

You can read more about Clinical Hypnosis and what it can help you with, how it works and how many sessions are likely to be required.

Outdoor Therapy

Nature has been shown to have a calming and therapeutic effect on the mind and body. Being in nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve overall mood.

Outdoor Therapy sessions take advantage of this by accessing natural environments where therapy can take place. Outdoor Therapy sessions can be useful for clients who are unsure of or resistant to traditional indoor therapy settings.

Some clients can feel anxious engaging in traditional face to face ‘Therapy’ sessions, either in person or online. Outdoor Therapy is offered at Metta Therapy for clients who intuitively recognise they simply prefer the sense of space and freedom available when outside.

Sessions can be held in a variety of locations around the Central Scotland area, including public parks, woodland and beaches. The natural environment provides a unique and interesting backdrop for therapy, which can help to keep people more engaged and focused during sessions. This can lead to better outcomes and more progress in therapy.

Online Therapy

Integrative Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis sessions can be provided Online if this is your preference.

It is not possible to provide Outdoor Therapy via online platforms.

Please book Free Consultation to discuss if Online Therapy will help meet your Therapeutic Goals at this time.
